Mission

We collect hearing aids and related supplies, refurbish what we can use, recycle what we cannot, and redistribute them to low-income individuals at no cost.

Description

The Hearing Aid Project is a program of Sertoma International & Hearing Charities of America. We collect thousands of hearing aids annually, refurbishing those that can be reused and recycling those that cannot. The Hearing Aid Project accepts all donations of hearing aids and related supplies (batteries, chargers, wipes, electronic devices, etc.) from any year and/or manufacturer. Donors will be provided with a receipt once donations are processed (usually within 2-4 weeks of receipt). We serve patients both in the Kansas City area and across the United States. We work with a network of audiologists who come from private practices, hospitals, university clinics, and community-based organizations who provide their services at no-cost for our program. For individuals to qualify for free hearing aids, they must have moderate-severe hearing loss and earn less than 200% of the poverty level.
