Mission

To provide high-quality medical and mental health care and support to the homeless and under-served populations of Kansas City outside the bounds of traditional health care settings, becoming a force for health care equality and social change.

Description

Care Beyond the Boulevard is Kansas City's only street medicine team. We provide free medical services to our city's homeless, uninsured, and underserved communities. Medical services include chronic/primary care, wound care, medication assistance, physical therapy, psychology, psychiatry, dental extractions/x-rays, foot clinic and more. Clinics are held in stationary locations throughout the metro area, as well as in mobile settings, aboard our Big Green Bus and in our vans. Care Beyond the Boulevard also operates Kansas City's only standalone homeless medical respite facility, called the Carehouse. At the Carehouse, patients experiencing homelessness that have been recently hospitalized are given a private room to finish recovering. While at the Carehouse, patients are seen by medical providers, nurses, and other specialties as needed. We also offer social support services, both at our clinics and the Carehouse. Established patients are able to meet with our case management teams to help get birth certificates, ID's, and apply for medicaid, medicare, and other benefits they may be eligible for. All services are provided 100% free of charge, and no patient is ever turned away.
